An Australian-German Christmas

A Mr Bean'esque' encounter with the prawn ...

... before the prawn fulfilled it's destiny and became traditional Australian Christmas lunch!

It's still not the same but a lot better!

Christmas Day on the beach?

Has Dad been naughty to have this Christmas wish unfulfilled?

At least Mum and Dad got an idea of where Australians traditionally spend their Christmas Day because plenty of families had their tents put up, esky unloaded and BBQs fired up, despite the sudden shower when we arrived on Bribie Island.

There had been already an amazing cloud display over Brisbane River from Brett's Wharf on Christmas Eve. Seafood dinner for Mum's birthday - traditionally it's potato salad but nobody was upset. We had the potato salad the night before.

Roast? Who needs roast when there is mango and paw paw and rock melon?

Did I hear someone say Acai ice cream?

This year I won't be able to brag about loosing weight and that's not just because of the original Dresden Stollen that my parents somehow managed to get through customs.

Merry Christmas Groover, it sounds like you have a fine tradition going there, richer for the diverse background you bring it!

Wasn't it more like a Brazilian-German-Australian Xmas?!?
